World Famous Hydrocooled Sweet Corn

Step 1: Planting

Laying Plastic      Aerial Photo
After the fields are prepared and the corn seed is planted, we lay plastic over the rows. This creates a mini greenhouse which protects them from early frost; the condensation also provides moisture during drought conditions.

Step 2: Picking
Tom (blue cap) and Chip (red cap) have the 'touch'      Picking corn      Corn Toss
We hand pick our sweet corn - a special touch to the tip of the cob ensure its ready to eat.

Step 3: Grading / Bagging
Bagging corn      Heading out      Checking the load
We pack 7 "Hunter dozens" (13 cobs/dozen) in each bag of corn ... that 91 cobs in all

Step 4: Hydrocooling
The Pond      The Pond      Turning the Corn
An important last step in the production of sweet corn is hydrocooling - keeps it sweeter longer
